Last thing I want to happen is being led to a dark cellar by lovely females who are really neither lovely nor female– or even species compatible. (cf that episode \”Risa\” on Enterprise) I don't mind that opportunistic aliens want the contents of my wallet by feeling around for it in a dark cellar, but I think it's only fair that I get a good time out of my experience feeling around in the dark too.
bringing a tricorder is still \”work mode\” for me. i want a relaxing shore leave. i don't want to think, i just want to go with the flow. i just hope that people will respect my decision if i decline on \”some\” invitations. my wallet will stay at my room and just bring some loose change and the federation credit instead. i might bring the portable phaser set to mild stun just in case.
