A "bangaw" is just a large "langaw", right?

Taxonomically speaking, “langaw” is a family of insects (flies) while “bangaw” is one species within the family. That is why the definition of “bangaw” in Filipino dictionary is “malaking langaw”: https://www.diksiyonaryo.ph/search/bangaw
