I tried doing a quick search on the origins of the word "dagitab"; I was under the impression that this is a newly coined term in Filipino. However, I couldn't find a source on that, and the more common "koryente" came from the Spanish "corriente". With this, I guess "dagitab" is the native Tagalog term. (I mean "native" as opposed to "borrowed" or "coined/neologism").

I think it was coined in “Maugnaying Talasalitaan”. Most of the terms coined there never caught on.

On the other hand, I'm perfectly fine starting over here.

I am actually backing (almost) all my posts from every corner of the interwebs in a place I can control—my own site. Every social media site just reflects a part of me as influenced by that site’s community.

Filipino moots, I tried searching for local news accounts here, but all I found were empty ones (GMA's and Rappler's). I also checked the feeds, but the results look pretty thin. Do you know of any local news feeds?
