My PE instructor in school once said, "I have two daughters. Both are girls." "Bring me a red pen of any colour."

The instructor is thinking in Tagalog and translate it to English upon speaking. When we translate it back to Tagalog:

โ€œMay dalawa akong anak. Parehong babae.โ€

The mistranslation occurred in โ€œanakโ€ to โ€œdaughterโ€. Tagalog does not have gendered terms for offspring. That is why the second sentence in Tagalog clarifies the gender but totally redundant in English.
